Why one cleanup is not enough
Leaf drop in central New Jersey runs from October into early December, and different trees let go at different times. Maples go early, oaks hold on past Thanksgiving. A single visit in November leaves a fresh blanket behind within two weeks.
We schedule repeat visits through the season. The lawn never sits under a wet mat long enough for the grass beneath it to smother.
What snow mold does
Leaves left on turf under snow hold moisture against the crown all winter. Gray and pink snow mold work in that layer, and you find out in March when the snow melts off matted straw colored circles. Repairing those patches costs more than the cleanup would have.

Somerset County towns run their own collection calendars and rules on bagging versus loose curbside piles, and those rules change year to year. Tell us which town you are in and we will stage your leaves the way your public works department wants them, or haul them off entirely if you would rather not wait on the truck.

Common questions
- How many fall visits do I need?
- Two to four for most properties, depending on how many mature trees you have and whether your neighbors have oaks.
- Can you just mulch the leaves into the lawn?
- A light layer, yes, and it feeds the soil. A heavy drop cannot be mulched in without smothering the turf, so that material has to come off.
- When is the last cleanup of the year?
- Usually early December, after the oaks finish. We aim to have every property clear before the first lasting snow.
