What we clean
- Vinyl, aluminum and fiber cement siding
- Concrete driveways, sidewalks and garage aprons
- Paver patios, walkways and steps
- Wood and composite decks, railings and stairs
- Vinyl and wood fencing
- Gutter faces, soffits and porch ceilings
Pressure is the wrong tool for most surfaces
The green and black film on north facing siding is algae and mildew, and blasting it off at high pressure drives water behind the siding and etches the surface. Siding gets low pressure and a cleaning solution that kills the growth, then a rinse. The result lasts longer because the organism is dead rather than knocked loose.
Concrete takes real pressure. Pavers take pressure with care, since an aggressive tip strips the joint sand and leaves stripes you cannot unsee. Wood takes the least of all and gets washed with the grain. Matching the method to the surface is most of the job.
Why New Jersey houses get dirty
Humid summers, tree cover and long damp shoulder seasons give algae everything it wants. Shaded north and east walls go green first. Concrete under a maple picks up tannin stains. Pollen coats everything in May.
Most homes here need a wash every one to two years. Left alone, that biological film holds moisture against the surface and shortens the life of paint, wood and sealant.
Before we start
We cover or wet down plantings near the work, close up exterior outlets and fixtures, and check for loose siding, failed caulk and soft wood before pulling a trigger. Anything we find that a wash could make worse, we show you first.

Common questions
- Will power washing damage my vinyl siding?
- Not the way we do it. Siding gets low pressure and a cleaning solution rather than a high pressure blast, which is what forces water behind panels.
- How often should a house be washed?
- Every one to two years for most Somerset County homes. Shaded walls under tree cover green up faster and may want annual attention.
- Do you need my water and electric?
- We use your outdoor spigot. Let us know ahead of time if it is shut off or low pressure and we will plan around it.
- Will the cleaning solution hurt my plants?
- We pre wet and rinse plantings around the work area, which is what keeps solution from concentrating on foliage.
